Quick Hits

Amazon - recently laid off 35% of Twitch (500~) with additional large cuts expected in the Prime Video division and others. Amazon has already laid off over 27,000 in the past year.

Temu - We all know alibaba and amazon quickly get filled with knockoffs and that Shein is notorious for ripping off designers, so no real surprise we’re seeing it on Temu too.

Fedex - has decided to take a page out of the amazon playbook to launch a “data-driven commerce platform” this fall called fdx that it says will give online merchants “end-to-end e-commerce solutions.”

Local sports is still a major driver of tv subscriptions and amazon will do anything to drive more people to Prime. Diamond has the rights to 37 teams across the 3 of the 4 major leagues and Amazon will want those games on the platform.
